Mariah Schimke MOT, OTR/L
 
    
          Mariah is an Occupational Therapist who was born and raised in Nine Mile Falls, Washington. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. As a student, she gained diverse experiences in early intervention, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient pediatrics. She has enjoyed working at Children FIRST since 2020.
Mariah specializes in utilizing play-based therapy to promote fine and gross motor development, sensory modulation, adaptive/self-help skills, and emotional regulation. She is committed to providing holistic care to optimize her patient's participation in meaningful daily activities. Mariah believes in providing family-centered therapy; she values empowering and collaborating with caregivers, and she looks forward to celebrating each small victory with the families she serves. In her free time, Mariah enjoys traveling, reading, baking, playing with her dog, and spending quality time with her husband and son.
